St James Episcopal Church, Marshall in southwest Minnesota is a small rural Total Ministry parish, a shared ministry congregation where everyone in the parish family is given the opportunity to find and do the ministry to which God is calling them.
The call to local lay and ordained ministry is led by a team that has been ordained and commissioned to provide a sharing and caring leadership that Welcomes All to the Table.
St. James is committed to Gospel Based Discipleship to discern God's call, to outreach supporting those in Recovery, and the Millenium Development Goals mission to end poverty and save lives,
Our Parish Goal this year is to continue to raise the funds for our Leap of Faith Accessibility Fund to build a permanent ramp to enable our 120 year old historic church to be more accessible for those with mobility disabilities and to live into our mission to "Welcome All" to enter our Red Door.
Our Mission Project 2012 this year is to support the threefold Episcopal Church in Minnesota's (ECIM) 2012 Mission Project to help alleviate poverty in our community and in Minnesota. In so doing we will share our time, talent and treasure to
•address homelessness by raising resources to help support The Refuge project in Lyon County
•
•address hunger by participating in the ECIM "A Night Without Hunger" Lenten project and continuing to collect food for donating to our local food shelf
•
•address joblessness with the Episcopal Community Services (ECM) by collecting personal care items and accessories for men and women who are preparing to enter the job market.
